Marty Prideaux

About the owner:

Martin Prideaux was born and bred in New Zealand. He started his construction career in 1986 as a cabinet maker and office partition builder. In 1989 Martin was apprenticed to a Custom home Builder, Jenkin Construction. The apprenticeship consisted of 8000 hours /approx. 4 year program. It had 14 weeks of school set in block courses and night school once a week in the final year. At the end of the four year apprenticeship, Martin sat and passed the trade certificate exam and had his New Zealand license issued.

For the next two years Martin learned New Zealand building issues, codes and built custom homes in Auckland as a Superintendent for Hudson Builders.

In 1995 Martin decided to move to California where his father worked and lived. He was offered 3 construction positions from General contractors in Santa Barbara and decided to take a position with Giffin and Crane. Starting as a carpenter, Martin soon was promoted to a Superintendent position and then to Project Manager. Martin ran some of the larger custom home projects for Giffin and Crane where he worked for nearly 9 years.
Martin left Giffin and Crane in the Winter of 2004 after receiving his California Construction License. He is still good friends with the crew at Giffin and Crane.

Since the founding of M.P.X. Construction, Martin has been busy with the construction world from small remodels to large custom homes. M.P.X. Construction will look at any project. With 20 + years under his belt, Martin works closely with his clients and helps them with design issues, planning, color choice and layout. He can also direct you to architects, landscapers, interior designers, if required for your project. Martin tries to accommodate your every need in construction and has formed many friends from previous clients who are very satisfied with the M.P.X. construction experience.

About M.P.X. Employees:

The M.P.X. employees are all experienced in the construction world and most have worked with Martin through previous company’s and crews. The employees are very versatile and can complete a range of tasks from Concrete, Drainage, Waterproofing, Framing and Finish Carpentry (including installing windows and doors)

About M.P.X. Subcontractors:

Martin carefully chooses the best Subcontractors for each project. Martin has worked with the same pool of subs for the last 12 years and clients have had nothing but praise towards the subs that were on there jobs.
